Our change in evening programming

To our loyal WOKV listeners,

I recognize it's annoying when a show you really like disappears.

I've spoken and exchanged email with many of you  over the past few days, as you've shared your thoughts on our decision  to remove Michael Savage from our schedule  and air "America Now with Andy Dean"....

Most of you want to know why we've dropped the show.  The answer is simple, ratings drive our business. Any program that isn't meeting our expectations runs the risk of replacement.    We've also recently made some changes to our Sunday programs for the same reason.

In his early days on WOKV, Rush Limbaugh asked Jacksonville listeners (and the country), to give his show six weeks, and then we'''ll learn to love it.   Rush was right (as usual), as it takes time to appreciate a new host for their own merits, not in light of what had been on the radio before.

I ask you, the listeners who made Rush, Neal Boortz, and Sean Hannity,  all very successful in Jacksonville;  to give Andy Dean that same six weeks.    Andy is very conservative , but also brings a different and entertaining viewpoint to the top stories.

If you don't agree, that's the fun part of WOKV,  just call Andy and tell him why!
