Jacksonville, Fl. — Lanes are finally back open on U.S. 301 at Gilridge Road after a tanker-truck caught fire on Sunday night in Baldwin.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office worked with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue as it was all hands on deck to put out the flames. It had shut down lanes in both directions for at least four hours.
#JFRD is still on scene cleaning up the foam and hazardous material on the ground. #JSO is also here to direct traffic. Some lanes have reopened since I took this video. @ActionNewsJax pic.twitter.com/CfAI68PQP2

The driver of the tanker truck told our partners at Action News Jax that his rear tired popped and the bank of his tanker caught fire. No injuries were reported.
301 currently shutdown due to a tanker fire. Baldwin crews (Station 43 and 46) did a phenomenal job quickly extinguishing this fire before the whole tanker let loose. Assisted by Station 56, 31, 57, and hazmat 7. pic.twitter.com/EfIWnw1Amp
