Jacksonville, FL — Just over a week after a 63-year-old woman was sexually battered in a Jacksonville Beach condo, police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for that attack and other crimes.
JBPD determined Fred Ellis Jr. was a person of interest in the sexual battery and home invasion robbery through DNA evidence. They obtained a warrant for his arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.
Saturday morning, JBPD responded to a burglary to an occupied dwelling. They say Ellis was located and arrested a short time later for multiple charges.
Both the initial sexual battery and home invasion, and the subsequent burglary are listed as taking place in the 600 block of 1st Street South. WOKV is working to confirm any additional information about the locations that were targeted and crimes Ellis is now charged with.
