New details have emerged about the child molestation case against local pastor Ken Adkins.
Adkins has now formally been indicted on eleven charges- two counts of child molestation, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of aggravated child molestation, one count of child molestation, four counts of aggravated child molestation, and one count of influencing a witness.
The indictment says, on September 9th, Adkins used intimidation toward a person, threatening to reveal secrets about him if he didn't contact Adkins' alleged victim and tell him not to communicate with law enforcement.
We’re also getting more detail about the sexual acts Adkins is accused of committing both on and in the presence of a boy and girl- who were both under 16-years-old at the time. The acts happened between August 2009 and December 2010 involving inappropriate touching, oral sex, watching sexual acts, and more.
Adkins has been denied bond, but there will be a hearing next month to reconsider that.
Admins is a pastor in Brunswick and Jacksonville, and became a controversial figure in Jacksonville’s debate on whether to expand the Human Rights Ordinance to include protections based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression- siding against expansion.
