Jacksonville restaurant owners admit to harboring illegal workers

Jacksonville, FL — Two Jacksonville restaurant owners are pleading guilty after Homeland Security agents found undocumented workers living in their home on Tori Lane on the Northside.

The couple, owners of Fujiyama Steak House and Sushi Lounge, is charged with harboring undocumented aliens for commercial advantage and private financial gain, which could land the two in federal prison for ten years.

ICE agents, acting on a tip that a 16 year-old had been smuggled into the country, raided the home on July 6th. The couple, Xiu Rong Liu and Liang Wu Yang, both of Jacksonville, were charged on July 31st of this year.

Agents discovered six undocumented immigrants living there - most from Indonesia and Guatemala.   They were working at the couple's restaurant.  Investigators say the workers were all paid cash. Proper paperwork was not filed and wages were not reported.

A sentencing date has not yet been set
