We told you earlier this month when Jacksonville Beach Police were looking to identify a suspect following a sexual assault that involved a 63-year-old woman and this past Saturday when police arrested Fred Ellis Jr. as a person of interest in the case.
Jacksonville Beach Police say Ellis broke into the 63-year-old’s condominium, just south of Oceanfront Park, and sexually attacked her back on December 13th. According to his arrest report Ellis took the victim’s iPad, iPhone, and a necklace from around her neck before fleeing the scene.
The arrest report shows police were able to identify Ellis though DNA evidence and were able to get an arrest warrant after he failed to register as a sex offender.
According to Ellis’s arrest report he is being charged with sexual battery and home invasion robbery without a firearm.
