Just inches from where a hole opened in I-95 Tuesday, another one led to emergency repairs Friday.
The center lane of I-95 Northbound around Hendricks was closed overnight, at times with more lane closures added to accommodate these repairs and the ongoing construction in the area. The repairs were very close to Tuesday’s emergency repairs, in fact, the Florida Department of Transportation tells WOKV that some of this new hole was seeping in to the Tuesday repair spot. Crews tore up some of the prior construction in order to fully address the issue.
This area has, in itself, seen frequent emergency repairs in the past few months. The FDOT is expecting to shift traffic off of this area next month as part of the continued Overland Bridge construction south of the Fuller Warren. The road problems are being blamed on the age of the bridge structure.
