Man’s body found in pond in Grand Park area, Jacksonville police say The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a body was found floating in a pond in the Grand Park area on Tuesday morning.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a body was found floating in a pond in the Grand Park area on Tuesday morning.

Police responded around 9:30 to the 3300 block of Nancy Street after a passerby saw the body. This is just north of the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

JSO said the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded and was able to paddle out in a boat, recover the body, and bring it to the shore.

The body found was that of an adult male, and JSO does not know the man’s age range at this time.

There were no apparent injuries on the man that would indicate his cause of death, JSO said.

JSO’s Dive Team will be coming to remove the body from the pond fully, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will be investigating the man’s death as well.
