A controversial community center lease comes to City Council again.
The first round of debate leads to a heated argument over the future of a north side community center.
Now, the fate of the Simonds-Johnson Community Center will again be debated at City Council.
The Building was refurbished by former Jaguars Star Tony Boselli. Before that the building had been closed. Now the Boselli Foundation wants to lease the building from the city.
However, the arrangement has drawn the ire of some in the community. They charge that they were not consulted before the city approved the deal and they want to protect public access.
Boselli met with many community members at the building Monday night to discuss the concerns.
But he will still have to win over council if he wants to secure the lease.
