Police closed down several blocks for 5 hours, Sunday afternoon. Sheriff John Rutherford says they took the incident extremely seriously due to the recent bomb scare in London, and the bombing in Scotland over the weekend.
Police swept the area, but didn't find any weapons or bombs. He's being charged with making a false bomb threat and resisting police.
In light of threats at home and abroad; with London and Scotland dealing with their own terrorist activities, authorities are beefing up security today at Jacksonville International Airport.
The JAA has announced they'll randomly search your vehicles when you head to the airport, starting today. So with the added holiday traffic, make sure you give yourself at least and hour and a half of extra time if you're headed to the airport this morning.
