There was a big turnout for tonight's event as he was joined by 50 to 60 people to remember Deborah Liles and to urge the community to come forward with any information that might lead to catching her killer.

They prayed for peace but also asked for answers.

The 62-year-old Jacksonville music teacher was found dead in her home on March 23. Her car was stolen but was found days later, just miles from her home. Police continue to investigate but have not named a suspect. Thursday people canvassed the neighborhood where she was killed, some of those walking were her students.

Xander Vigil, a student of Liles said “It breaks my heart that someone would do that to her. She was the most kind person that that I knew.”

Also walking was Liles' husband Mike.

“This is where either your faith works or it doesn’t. Honestly I can feel Deb with me,” Mike Liles said.

And while he walked, Mike said the same path is one he and Deb used to often walk.

"We’d take one cellphone, hers or mine. But it was our one chance to get away where unless something urgent was happening, we could just be Mike and Deb," Liles said.

Now he's hoping they will help find his wife's killer.

“You never know what one question might turn the tide on this thing,” Liles said.

Action News Jax asked Liles about his wife’s killer and if he thought the attacker knew his wife.

“I don’t think so. I think he just perceived her to be a means to an end or someone that was blocking a means to, and to that extent, he ended and that is never going to make sense to me,” Liles said.

Deborah Liles' funeral will be this Saturday afternoon. MADDADS is planning another neighborhood walk on Monday in the area where Liles car was found. If you have any information you're asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
