WOKV has confirmed through the city's office of military affairs that the Navy is announcing the re-establishment of the 4th Fleet at Mayport.

We're not getting any ships, and just a handful of new people, but the announcement raises the profile of Naval Station Mayport.

The U.S. Navy has not made the official announcement yet but one is expected soon.  A 4th fleet would mean a higher ranking officer not more ships or personnel.  One navy expert says that may seem like nothing but it's very important.
