Governor Charlie Crist is fuming after Florida lawmakers blow-off his scheduled special session.

Mayor John Peyton's proposed property tax rate hike has passed it's first hurdle, winning unanimous support on the City Council's finance committee.

Republicans have already told Governor Charlie Crist not to expect much to come out of this week's legislative special session. Crist is calling lawmakers to Tallahassee to craft a constitutional amendment banning offshore oil drilling in Florida waters.

Since May hundreds of reports of algae blooms, dead fish and bad smells in the St. Johns River have been reported. And while researchers are still scratching their heads about what's behind the spike in fish kills, lawmakers are moving quick to make the river a top priority.
