We're getting closer to seeing a better clinic for Jacksonville's Veterans.

After more than a decade of debating and red tape, Congresswoman Corrine Brown says the papers are signed, the attorneys have resolved all of the issues and they're satisfied.

Brown serves on the House Veterans Affairs Committee. She says representatives for Shands, the University of Florida and the Veterans Administration have come to an agreement on plans for the new facility.

Once a contractor is selected, they can break ground on a wider VA Clinic on Jefferson Street in Jacksonville. The clinic will also offer more services for area veterans.

The Secretary of Veterans Affairs says the new clinic should open its doors by 2012.
