Tuesday morning began with Jacksonville paramedics rushing to a Westside retention pond to rescue 39-year-old Shelell Freeman and her 8-year-old son after she accidentally accelerated their car. They're still listed as critical in two local hospitals.

Bill McCollum says the Florida Education association is responsible for the loss of potentially hundreds of millions of dollars for students in Florida.

A 45 year old motorcyclist is killed in a nasty morning crash on I-10.  Lt. Bill Leeper with the Florida Highway Patrol says the biker was heading east on I-10 when traffic slowed around 7am.

To qualify as an AMBER ALERT, 5 criteria must be met:

1) Child must be under 18 years of age.
2) There must be a clear indication of an abduction.
3) If not a clear abduction, the law enforcement agency's investigation must conclude that the child's life is in danger.
4) There must be a detailed description of the child and/or abductor/vehicle to broadcast to the public (photo when available).
5) Activation must be recommended by the local law enforcement agency of jurisdiction.

A big sigh of relief for a westside family and police, as a 3 week old boy who was abducted from his home Tuesday is now safe. 

Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford announced this morning that Melvin Duclose was found safe and the woman who abducted him is arrested on several charges.
