The final game for the legendary coach has drawn a lot of attention.
As a result, said downtown vision's Terry Lawrence, more people are coming into town for the game.
"That's what we are hearing from the hoteliers and some of the other folks where people are making reservations for the weekend," Lawrence said.
She said most downtown hotels are books, which is a good sign for businesses outside the downtown core.
"Particularly with the New Years eve events as well as the Gator Bowl activates on Friday it is going to be a great weekend," she said.
With the New Year falling so close to the weekend, a lot of people will be staying for more than the game which is great for business that cater to them.
Bowden has been head coach of Florida State for 33 and has won 315 division one football games in his time as a head coach.
He will finish his run at the gator bowl as the second winningest college coach of all time.
