Neptune Beach Crash Leaves One Dead

A man is killed and a woman is badly hurt in a crash in Neptune Beach around the beginning of rush hour Monday.

 

The Florida Highway Patrol says a car ran into 20-year-old Anthony Ortega's moped on Atlantic Boulevard on front of the KMart shopping center.

He was thrown from the moped, and died before being taken to the hospital.

His passenger, 20-year-old Nicole Prado, was taken to Shands Hospital in serious condition.

FHP officials say charges will not be filed against the driver of the car.
