Fernandina Beach High School teacher Stephen Turner has been charged with several crimes relating to the relationship with the 17-year old student. The girl told police that they have been in a relationship for two years and having sex for about a year.
She also said he bought her a call phone and jewelry.
When police went to arrest him earlier this week he had cleaned out his apartment. They found him on Thursday at his parent's home in Jacksonville.
He was suspended with pay earlier this month when the Superintendent found out about the investigation. He was stripped of his pay on 22nd.
He is not in jail on a 260-thousand dollars bond.
He is charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, child abuse, showing obscene material to a minor, providing alcohol to a person younger than 21 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
