School Board Considers Ban on Pics, Video on Campus
The Duval County School board will consider banning students from taking pictures and videos while on campus.
The proposed change in the student code of conduct comes after a video allegedly showing a teacher choking a student was turned in to administrators.
The school district says teacher Michael Brown has been removed from the classroom at Forrest High, but it's still investigating the charge.
If the district approves the change tonight, students will not be able to take those videos or photographs without the permission from school administrators and the people in the photos.
The changes would start this fall.
What others are saying
- banThis is illustrative of leftists in the education unions. Remove the ability of the oppressed to prove a grievance. These unions and their membership have no interest in education, just in controlling your children and turning them into obedient government subjects. If you have children in the government school system and let this happen, shame on you.
- Video BanIf the videos of students in locker rooms are the concern, then ban the use of video in the locker room. There is no need to ban the use of video in school. The use of this technology has the potential to save a student or teacher's life. It has the potential to assist the student in the learning process while taking videos of procedure drawn on boards. Duval County Schools are simply trying to prevent the uncovering of ugly issues concerning their poorly chosen staff.
- Video banYour kidding me right, Someone turned in a video of a teacher choking a student and to stop this outrages behavior you want to ban students from taking video's!!!! Really!!
This is so stupid it's not even funny.
Any School Board member who votes for this should be removed.
To any student reading this, if they pass the ban take the video anyway and give it to the person that was assaulted. It will be needed in court.
