A Jacksonville cop being investigated over a crimestoppers hotline scam has been fired.

Detective James Narcisse was being questioned over allegations that he provided inside information on criminals to at least one female acquaintance, who used it to collect reward money.

The details of the internal investigation haven't been released and so far no criminal charges have been filed.

Narcisse was involved in the fatal shooting of an 80 year-old man during an undercover drug sting in 2007.

He was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing by a committee of his peers.
