Fallen Heroes' Families Reflect on Iraq War Anniversary
Today marks the sixth anniversary since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was launched. But Dave Seamans, who lost his son in the war, is quick to point out another anniversary marked today.
"It's also the anniversary of the first soldier we lost" in the Iraq War he says. "Everybody needs to recall that. War is not fun. It's not popular. Nobody likes to go to war. But we just reflect on everything; all those lost, all those who come home, all those who are hurt; we just continue to pray for those families."

Pfc. Timothy Seamans was killed by a roadside bomb attack in Iraq in 2005. Since then, Dave Seamans has established the Florida Fallen Heroes foundation, raising money to erect monuments at the high schools of Florida soldiers killed in combat.
"We always try to remember our veterans," Seamans says. "Especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. That's important to this country. So we try to move on knowing that eventually our troops will come home."
Seamans cautions about letting anniversaries like today cloud judgement and spurn a rush to leaving Iraq.
"We've got to finish the mission," he says. "Once the mission is complete, come home. But, there's a lot of work to do. It's going to take a lot of involvement, not just from our soldiers, but the politicians, as well."
