MSNBC's Chris Matthews is apparently openly working for Barack Obama.

In an interview with MSNBC show host and former Republican Congressman from Florida, Joe Scarborough, Mathews said it is his job as a journalist to make sure the Obama presidency works.

On the network, Scarborough asked a question about why information about Rahm Emanuel's appointment to President-elect Obama's cabinet was potentially leaked.

Matthews states, "I want to do everything to make this work, this new presidency to work."

Scarborough then retorts, "Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist?"

Matthews quickly responds, "Yeah that is my job, my job is to help this country... to make this work successfully because this country needs a successful presidency more than anything right now."

  • We Report, You Decide
I'm convinced that WOKV is one of the last bastions of fair reporting in "local" media, and it seems, in national media as well.

Bad pub for MSNBC = Good for Fox News
  • makes me wonder
makes me wonder whether his job was to make the bush presidency a failure? The word "journalist" used to mean something. Now it is merely "propagandist"
  • Chris Matthews
I guess the tingle running up Matthew's leg has no end in sight.

I don't care what side of the political spectrum you align yourself with, the fact of the matter is, with that statement, Chris Matthews has proved himself a disgrace to the profession.
In one breath he's calling himself a journalist, and in the next, he's pledging his devotion, like an early-sixties high school girl would have to her heart throb. The only difference is that Matthews didn't stand up, so we couldn't see his poodle skirt.
What an utterly disgraceful display, and good for Joe Scarborough, for holding his feet to the fire, and not letting the remark go unchallenged.
  • Chris Mathews
How biased, does this also mean he'll make sure(or made sure) the other administration fails
  • Chris Matthews
Where was Chris Matthews when Bush was President. This man is so biased he is laughable.
  • Chris Matthews
I will sleep better at night knowing that Chris Matthews is on the job and helping the new administration succeed.
