Paralyzed Veteran Attempts Amazing Journey
A Jacksonville man embarks on a grueling trip today. 47-year-old Don Worley, paralyzed from the waist down, is hand-pedalling his way to Chicago to raise awareness about underage drinking and driving.
Worley was hit by a teenage drunk driver in July of 2005. The Navy veteran is getting a big send off at Jacksonville City Hall this morning.
His goal is to cover 50 miles a day for 27 days. He hopes to finish the journey at Harpo studios and shake Oprah Winfrey's hand while getting the message about drunk driving to her.
