Most Voters Support Amendment 2
A recent Mason-Dixon poll poll showed a majority saying they would vote to approve amendment 2.
"State wide on amendment 2 we found that 55% said indicated they would vote 'yes', 34% said they would vote 'no' and 11% said they are still undecided," said Brad Coker with Mason-Dixon.
In the past, undecideds have generally voted yes, because some they have made up their mind but don't want to tell the pollster.
"Typically the undecided vote has broken in favor of passage of these amendments. So, to get from 55 to 60 with 11% still at stake I think is not too much of a stretch," Coker said.
He says this is a well known issue from its passage in other states and believes most people have already made up their minds.
The amendment will have to pass with 60% of the vote to rewrite the state constitution.
