Visit Jacksonville Spokesperson Carrie McLaren says local hotels, motels and restaurants are getting a great boost this week.  "August is typically a slow time for Jacksonville as far as hotel accomodations are concerned," she says, so this event has been a great boost for the local economy.

She says having the Jacksonville name out there on an American Idol episiode next year will be huge in itself.
