Tight Budget For Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is feeling the pinch of a decreased budget.
They've gone from as many as 240,000 meals a couple of years ago to 160,000 for the upcoming budget year.
Urban Jacksonville's Terri Barton says they've had reductions from almost all their funding sources and that includes money from the City of Jacksonville.
"We've gotten successively less dollars from the City of Jacksonville," says Barton.
At one time they were getting nearly $200,000 but now they're getting about $135,000.
No word on whether they'll get even less for 08/09.
