The Florida Division of Forestry says now is not the time to burn.  Officials say lets get through May and June and then you can think about burning yard debris.

"If you could hold off until we can get some rain.  These strong winds are really causing problems," says Wildfire Mitgation Specialist Annaleasa Winter.

Winter also says, "once we start to get those afternoon thunderstorms in July and the weather starts to calm down, it's a much better time to burn yard debris then."

They're sending resources to Central Florida to help out with an 800 acre wildfire there.

She also warns about a 3,800 acre fire burning at Camp Blanding.  Winter says make sure you use extra caution in the area due to heavy smoke.
