Officers Cleared in Two Shootings
A Jacksonville Sheriff's officer review board looks at the controversial February shooting a local teen.
Police say Kenneth Marion and three other teens had just committed armed robbery and were running from police before the shooting.
"I was in fear of my life and the lives of the residents that were going into the backyards and the other officers that were possibly in the area, so as he laid his body towards me I fired," Officer Bernard Clark said.
He fired the killed Marion with that bullet.
The board ruled that he was within the rules for use of force to shoot Marion.
The other three teens are facing murder charges because they are accused of committing a felony when Marion was shot.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Department review board cleared another officer in a fatal shooting near Mayport in February .
Three officers told the board that 32-year old Addar Kennedy approached them in the night during a drug sweep but then ran away and struggled when they tried to arrested him.
They said that Kennedy fired on them first before they returned fire, killing him.
The board ruled that they were within guidelines to shoot Kennedy.
