A Callahan Middle School Teacher named Nassau County teacher of the year.
Jean Lamar was named Nassau County teacher of the year by the Florida Department of Education.
"I grew up looking in the dictionary and, you know, just being excited learning. And to be able to share that passion with my students. And challenge them and inspire them and to see them get excited about learn, because that is what life is all about," said Lamar.
She got a $5,000 dollar check and her school also got a thousand dollars.
She will go to Orlando in July to find out who is the state teacher of the year.
