Jonathan Tave, 26, is accused of killing a man in 2005 and is facing charges for last month's attack on a guard last month.

He plead not guilty to the rape charges at a court appearance on Thursday.

Police now say DNA evidence has linked Tave with the 2004 shooting of Willie Tomblin.

"It has been a very long time. This is the most devastating thing I've ever encountered in my life," Tomblin's mother, Sheila said.

Police says Tave shot Tomblin in the back in Arlington while Tomblin was trying to sell some speaker equipment.

He is already facing charges in a 2005 carjacking that turned into the murder of Cedric Henry. 

Tave had been sent to Baker County but officials there say he was harassing other inmates. He is now back in a special section of the Duval Jail. But Tave's lawyer is now requesting that he be moved again.

"He's talking about certain levels of treatment but again nothing can be confirmed or denied. And alike the judge will make the final determination whether or not he is entitled to stay here or be relocated," Tave's lawyer Micheal Bossen said.

Tave is facing up to life in prison from all the charges surrounding the alleged prison rape, and that trial is set to begin in October.
