MADDADS Wants 100-Thousand New Mentors
A local anti-crime group joins a national mentor movement.
MADDADS is part of the Florida Cares Initiative, and they want to sign up thousands black mentors help lead the black youth community.
"And our state goal is to register 100,000 new African-American mentors by the end of 2010," Eddie Staton Vice-President of the local chapter of MADDADS said.
He says the black community needs to step up to lead its children in positive directions.
The National Cares Mentor Movement is attempting to sign up more than 1.5-million mentors to lead America's youth.
They will kick off their mentor drive this Saturday with a rally starting at 10 a.m. at Adventure Landing on Blanding Boulevard.
