Kids make Anti-crime Pledge
Thousand of local kids making an anti-crime pledge this summer.
The kids are all joining with the Jacksonville Chapter of MAD DADS in an agreement to stay away from alcohol, drugs and guns.
"If these kids in elementary school can find out about gun and gun violence and to with stain from drugs, then it could really help them farther on down the line," Chapter president Donald Foy said.
They brought the program back for a fifth year after taking 2007 off, with a total of more than 11-thousand kids taking the pledge.
He says teaching kids early about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and guns makes helps them develop skills to avoid trouble in the future.
