Jaxport Mulls Purchase Options
Jaxport officials are weighing their options over a potential land purchase. 60-acres of land north of the Talleyrand terminal has been deemed by a jury to be worth $67.4million. Jaxport spokesperson Nancy Rubin says that may be out of their price range.
A 2006 court ruling paved the way for Jaxport to buy the land under eminent domain, but the price was only recently determined by a separate jury.
Rubin says right now they're meeting with attorneys and considering some of the legal options they have, which include simply walking away from the deal.
