Elderly Man Dies In Escalator Fall

An elderly man is dead after a fall on a local mall's escalator. It happened Monday at the Avenues Mall.

Sherwin Sharan was shopping when authorities say he fell down the escalator.

His wife was waiting in the parking lot and became concerned when she came into the mall to find paramedics over her husband's body.

He suffered a large cut to the back of his head and was pronounced dead at Baptist South Medical Center.

Sharan was 80 years old.
