Jacksonville International Airport is planning a formal ceremony to open its new concourse.

J-I-A officials are putting the final touches on the new concourse before Friday's grand opening.

"It's just a beautiful facility. A lot of natural light, a lot of windows, it's just such a different feel. A wonderful showcase of Jacksonville," JIA's Debbie Jones said.

She said they have been working on the 170-million dollar concourse for the last two years.

It will be able to handle many more people and a much wider variety of planes.

There is a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the concourse opening on Friday.
