Clay County Fire Highlights Dangers
A wildfire in Middleburg highlights the season Northeast Floirda is in right now. It started fire started Monday from military exercises at Camp Blanding's impact range.
It's burning to the west away from State Road 21. Analisa Winter with the Florida Division of Forrestry says this is a very precarious time for our area. "We're still in the moderate-dryness range, but everyday that goes by without rainfall just increases the danger."
She says other factors are playing into the wildfire threat, like atmospheric stability, which affects how quickly smoke lifts up can spread into other directions.
