Trading With The Dominican Republic
Exploring trade options with the Domincan Republic is the topic at Jaxport today. Representatives from 15 companies will be meeting with the Florida Foreign Trade Association and Enterprise Florida, as all sides look to explore business relationships with the country.
Jaxport Director of Container Cargo Raul Alfonso says trade with with the Dominican Republic is still in the early stages. "The purpose of this meeting is to bring together supliers from the region with customers from the DOmincan Republic and for them toget familiar with the port."
Alfonso says right now 2 ocean carriers serve the island, but that could easily increase.
