Baker County motorists witness a tornado forming near I-10 and the Osceola National Forrest.

Drivers say the storm appeared around 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon.

"I'm on I-10, heading towards Jacksonville," says one motorist, "and I saw a really big updraft right at the rest area for I-10 and the Osceola National Forest."

He says the tornado never touched down, and didn't cause any damage or injuries during that sighting. But it was still a dangerous situation for drivers.

"I came to almost a complete stop on the freeway because there were limbs blowing around and you could see the tornado go right across the freeway from the south to the north."

The storm disappeared quickly afterwards.

Emergency responders say they're currently monitoring weather conditions for Northeast Florida. The severe weather is also being blamed for home damage in Suwannee County.
