The Florida Department of Transportation is making changes for everyone traveling from I-10 eastbound to I-95 northbound.  The shift is scheduled to take place Sunday, April 13.

"When you're going east on I-10 and you need to go north on 95, traffic splits.  The local traffic will go to the right and the thru traffic will go to the left," DOT spokesman Mike Goldman says thats the way it is now.  Goldman says all traffic will go the right after Sunday.

In other words:  All northbound traffic will use the lanes now designated for the downtown exits at Forsyth Street, Monroe Street and Kings Road.  Currently, there are separate lanes for the northbound through traffic and the local traffic.

The new traffic pattern will last about a year.

The entire interchange project should be done in late 2010 or early 2011.
