WOKV AM & FM's Sports Director, Cole Pepper, joined Jacksonville's Morning News in March, 2001.
For over 11 years, Jacksonville radio listeners have tuned in to Cole's coverage of local sports. As a reporter, talk show host, sports anchor, and play-by-play man for numerous events, Cole has covered every major sports story in Jacksonville for the last decade.
As the host of the "Jaguars Radio Network," he anchors the "Jaguars Tailgate Show", "Halftime Report", and the "Jaguars Post Game Show" as well as co-hosting the weekly "Jaguars Reporters" during the football season.
A Kansas City native, Cole attended the prestigious William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. Prior to his move to Jacksonville, he worked for KMBZ and WDAF in Kansas City where he covered the Kansas City Royals. He also worked as a writer for the Associated Press and the Kansas City Star covering the University of Kansas.
In his award winning career (which includes more than a dozen Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Awards, including twice winning Best Sportscast in Florida), Pepper has covered major and minor league baseball, pro and college football, college basketball as well as The Players Championship, the Legends of Golf, and men's and women's tennis events.
When he's not working on the radio, Cole can be seen filling in on WJXT Chanel 4 as a sports anchor. In 2003, he launched his own line of barbecue sauce, Cole Pepper's Blackjack Barbecue Sauce which can be found around Jacksonville, including at Firehouse Subs locations.
