What others are saying

  • Heather-the weather reporter in the am
Please ask her to quit singing the weather report and her last name. What is wrong with this woman. American Idol-no, weather, yes. PLEASE slow down your delivery of the news. It sounds ridiculous.
  • Time Telling
Please...Please are we the listener of this radio station that stupid, that we dont know that 8:15 is also 15 past 8 or 45 to 9? Come on why do you people have to say the time every second after second? Please have mercy, and I am glad tha Bob isn't part of your team anymore, he was the worse of you all.
  • Re: Mark's Comment...
    Mark:

I'm sorry I didn't see your comment sooner. You make a good point with what you said about my sports cast and I'm sorry I didn't think about how my words could be interpreted. If you listen on a regular basis, you know that we have many members of the WOKV News Team. Like many other residents of Jacksonville, we are all from somewhere else. That does not mean we aren't proud of our community or support our team. Myself included, there are more than five staff members at the stadium in some capacity every week. We all have "our teams," the one we grew up with, but at the same time, we absolutely support the Jags. I wonder though, based on what you said, how many First Coast residents don't take the time to have a second team (a.k.a. the Jaguars).

    Thanks for listening!
    Mike Cooper
  • Rich is great!
  • Bob Schuman
Bob is no longer employed with WOKV, Rich Jones is hosting "Jacksonville's Morning News".

We certainly wish Bob success in his next professional opportunity, we've enjoyed working with him.

It's not remarkable, as we have never
discussed personnel decisions publically, that's all the detail I can provide.

    -Mike Dorwart
  • Bob Schuman
    Where's Bob?
    ????????????????
  • Bob Schuman
He was good, polished, larger-market-type...we were fortunate to have him. Where did he go? Someone from WOKV needs to answer this question...remarkable that's it's been asked so many times with no response from the station.
  • Welcome Rich, i'm glad we have someone else than Bob.
  • Bob
Bob was the best. What happened to him?
  • Bob Schuman
    What happened to Bob?
  • Jaguars
During the 8:30 sports segment, Mike Cooper was taking about the NFL playoffs. Unfortunately, he reminded me exactly why the Jaguars have problems selling tickets in Jacksonville. He told us the Roxy's favorite team is the Vikings, Jared's favorite team is the Cowboys, and his favorite team is the Eagles. Not a single Jaguars fan. It sure is a shame that the 'Home of the Jaguars' doesn't actually have any fans.
  • Bob
Rich is fine.. but I miss Bob. :(
  • Jimmy Johnson Sportsman of the Year
Some in the media have questioned the legitimacy of NASCAR driver and four time champion Jimmy Johnson being named Sportsman of the Year, and whether or not he is even a “Sportsman.” I offer these casual and verifiable facts:

In 2009 Jimmy Johnson donated $1.7 Million to charity
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson built 5 Habitat for Humanity homes
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson won 7 out of the 35 NASCAR races
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson was not released from Federal Prison
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson organized 4,417 pints of donated blood
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson did not run an illegal Dog Fighting racket
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson did not take performance enhancing steroids
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson did not shoot himself in his leg at a night club
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson won his forth consecutive NASCAR championship
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson fulfilled his social obligation as a positive role model
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson was faithful to his wife, both on and off the Golf Course
In 2009 Jimmy Johnson was not my favorite race driver, but still someone I admire
  • TIME
We give the time in both formats because it reinforces a crucial element in ratings, having listeners remember the TIME that they hear various program elements.

It's done at successful radio programs across the country.
  • TIME
Man, I was taking some time out of my day to find this web site and complain about the time thing and to my amazement I find that it seems to drive others just as crazy. Please stop giving the time twice Bob. Other than that the show is great.
  • Time
I highly doubt it is Mr. Shuman's call to give the time in both formats. Plus, some people like to hear it in one format or another
  • Rapid fire delivery of the news
Sometimes i wish the morning news format would change...I get tired of that rapid fire delivery of the news...I find it hard to be informed about anything when you spend less than 4 seconds on any story...the format jumps around way to much...tabloid style...
  • I like Your Station
I listen to this station every day as long as I can. It is very informative, unlike the liberal media that is mass-hypnotizing the morons across the country.
  • Analog or digital, indeed
It is very irritating to hear the time (every couple of minutes!) given as 8:15 or 15 minutes after 8. Your listeners are bright enough to know what 8:15 is. PLEASE!
  • Interview from this morning
Any chane to hear the replay of Dr. Joyner's interview this morning?
  • Talk Radio
I thank God for Conservative Talk Radio. We are bombarded daily by liberal viewpoints in movies, tv, nightly news and our everyday walk in this life. If the "fairness" doctrine shuts down the voices of conservatives and liberal judges water down the values on which this country was founded, America is doomed.
  • your station
I find your station programming highly offensive filled with Bigotry from hannity to unfactual data and just shear propaganda from limbaugh , and I'm boycotting sponser from your station and Fox News
  • Glenn Beck
Any chance of getting Glenn Beck on this station? It sucks having to stream it from another station every day.
  • local elections
i give all the news media in jacksonville fl an "f" for not covering local issues and canadates
  • President Bush
I really wish Jamie Dupree would stop calling our President "Mr. Bush". He is the President of the United States of America. It is extremely disrespectful.
