Mr. Clark my name is James Popour and I am an events coordinator with Florida Fairtax Education Association. As you well know of economic future for the United States is in the red and right now President-Elect Obama’s solution is an economic stimulus plan that can very much put the future of this country into even more debt. The Federal Reserve tells our government it’s ok to print Billions of dollars to “solve” our financial dilemma; does anyone ask where this money is coming from? The answer is no.
Everyone is hoping that this money will be repaid by increased business by putting more moneys into middle-class hands to go out and spend, spend, spend. Wasn’t this President Bush’s plan with the first stimulus package? My family for one took the first stimulus check by President Bush and pay our way our of our debt probable like many others. And here we are now, round two. In fact it is the future generations that would be burdened by our decisions now. That’s why I believe that changing our current tax code now is a move in the right direction to change policies in Washington. There is an alterative for the US Government to raise money to fund the salaries, the military and other agencies that the general population should be made aware of, this is one of our goals.
Any American would tell you the way to release yourself from crippling debt are to change the way you spend, but I like many other think that the Federal government is unable to cut the spending that really needs to be cut. It should not rest on the shoulder of the middle class to carry this load.
