| Stocks point to flat open after two-day plunge By TIM PARADIS AP Business Writer NEW YORK (AP) -- Wall Street is headed for a flat open after the Labor Department said the number of workers seeking unemployment benefits declined unexpectedly last week. The department said the number of laid off-workers seeking unemployment benefits last week fell by 9,000. The market expected a slight increase. The report had little initial effect on Dow Jones industrial average futures, which are up 1 at the 12,620 level after a two-day drop that sliced 427 points from the blue chip index.
