Let's start with the premise that the Jaguars aren't going to make the playoffs.

Jack Del Rio admits that even if the Jaguars win out, they may not make it. The Jags poor record against AFC teams would be difficult to overcome in the tie-breakers.

So even if the Jaguars won out (a rediculous thought, considering the Jaguars current state), they probably would miss the post-season.

Mike Peterson's Future Up In The Air

You can point to a lot of reasons why the Jaguars are losing games this year: inconsistent offensvie line play and a lack of a consistent running game. No deep threat at wide receiver. Losing the battle in the trenches. Giving up too many big plays. The list goes on and on.

But I can tell you this: something is missing from this year's Jaguars. That "it" factor that the 2007 Jags possessed has become a "what?" factor this year.

Before Sunday's game in Denver, I called the contest the "fulcrum game" of 2008 for the Jaguars.

That's because I believed (still do), that the Jaguars could not make the playoffs without a win over Denver. Time will tell if I was right, but for the time being, the Jaguars saved the season with the 24-17 win in the Rocky Mountains.

Jones Missed Opportunity

Wednesday in the Jaguars locker room, Matt Jones spent the first minute with the media acting like he didn't know what we were talking about.

We were, of course, talking about the news that Jones would not go to court on cocaine charges, but instead would enter a pre-trial intervention program that could end in the charges against the Jaguars wide receiver being dropped.

Jack Del Rio believes in what he does. He belives in his process and his approach. Any good coach must have that belief.

But at what point does belief become stubbornness?
