A Beacon of Burgers and Hash Browns
Since arriving in Biloxi Sunday afternoon, I was subsisting on a diet of convience store microwaveable meals and vending machine snacks. That is until I got the tip of the trip. A Waffle House in Ocean Springs, just one exit over on I-10 was open.
Apperently word spreads fast. By the time me and two colleauges from WSB pulled into the parking lot, the line was already streatched out the door.
Despite strict dusk to dawn curfews, the lure of freshly cooked food is too much to pass up after days cooped in a hotel room (the cable went out this morning, to boot).
The menu was scant and there was no unsweet tea, but the quarter pound beef patty with melted cheese served on toasted bread was the best meal of my Mississippi adventure.
I'm not sure when I'll return to Biloxi, but when I do, the Ocean Springs Waffle House will be my first stop.
