Huckabee Tries to Repeat A Winning Weekend
Nothing against McCain, but going to a "regular" campaign event after you've been to an Obama rally with 20,000 people is pretty much a downer.
Mike Huckabee meantime was playing to good sized crowds in Virginia again on Monday, with a crowded rally in Virginia Beach that a colleague of mine said had a good vibe to it.
Realistically, Huckabee probably has the best chance to defeat McCain in Virginia, which is much more on the Red side of the ledger than Maryland or Washington, D.C.
116 delegates are at stake today for the GOP, with winner take all primaries in DC and Virginia, and a modified Winner Take All system in Maryland based on individual Congressional districts and the statewide vote.
McCain is definitely the favorite in Maryland and the District. A win in all three would certainly squelch any Huckabee momentum, but two of three wouldn't be bad either, especially since Huckabee has to run the table to have any chance of stopping McCain
