Were You At Team Teal?
"He asked me if they were moving to L.A. and I said no, and he said good, because I want to go to the games when I'm your age," says Steve.
And after last night's gathering, 8-year-old Joshua is not afraid to ask why you're not supporting the Jags.
"And if I hear, 'I don't like the Jaguars,' I would say, 'Why not?' because they're Jacksonville's team," says Joshua.
And Barry says this isn't just about filling seats at the stadium - it's also about the pride and the economic impact of being an NFL city. They're confident they can fulfill the challenge of filling Jacksonville Municipal Stadium by the start of next season.
At the Team Teal event, organizers encouraged the nearly 1,000 fans who showed up to solicit their friends and family members to buy regular game and season tickets to help fill the 67,000 seat stadium.
While there, several fans signed up to be team captains - which required people to buy season tickets, then encourage others to also buy season tickets. For each dollar spent on tickets, you can accumulate points that are good for prizes like Super Bowl tickets, Pro Bowl tickets and a chance to sit with Team Owner Wayne Weaver during the game in the luxury seating area.
The fans also plan to stay organized with monthly meetings. The first is scheduled for February 1st at Hotel Indigo. For more information on Team Teal and the incentives, visit MyTeamTeal.com.
