Jaguars Stumble, Lose 23-17 To Browns
It's been said that football is a team game made up of individual matchups. That's true, but 99 times out of 100, if a team dominates on the offensive line and on the defense live, they will win the game. Sunday against the Browns, the Jaguars didn't create many holes in the running game, didn't protect the quarterback, saw Cleveland run the ball and they gave Browns quarterback Derrick Anderson time to thrown the ball.
Still, the Jaguars were in the game, trailing by six with just under 2 minutes to play. But their last best chance to win was a pass to Matt Jones in the end zone that bounced off Jones' finger tips several times before it fell incomplete leading to the Jaguars 23-17 loss to Cleveland. The return of Brad Meester didn't provide the boost that the jaguars hoped for and Chris Naeole injured his hand before the game and never got in the game. Now at 3-4 on the season, the Jaguars face a huge uphill battle to make the playoffs. Next for the Jaguars, a trip to Cincinnati to play the winless Bengals.
