Spicer's Message To Harvey: Time To Be A Man
With two preseason games already gone, the Jaguars first round pick Derrick Harvey is still not signed. Typically, veterans players support a rookie who is looking for his first contract.
But we're starting to see signs that the patience of Harvey's future teammates are starting to wear a bit thin.

After Saturday night's poor performance by the Jaguars, perhaps the pressure has mounted. And on Monday, the always candid Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer spoke out.
Will Spicer's words make a difference in the negotiations? Only if Harvey starts driving the bus instead of his agent Ken Kramer, which is not likely to happen.
From what I heard, they're a million away," Spicer said about the gap in the two sides. "If you're a million away, the only guy who benefits is the agent. Tell your agent I'm tired of sitting at home. It's time to put the toys away, be a man and get down to business."
Spicer was one of the few Jaguars who played well on Saturday night. He also led the team in sacks and is one of the few Jaguars veterans who can make such a strong statement (Mike Peterson and Fred Taylor are two notables).

What others are saying
- harvey guilty of greedit never ceases to amaze me at the arrogance of the rookie draftees. hold out.dont give in. hold out. they are blessed to have the talent in the first place but that aside, can you imagine doing something you love to do for a living?not only is that rare in most of our lives but add the fact that harvey is being paid to play a game. who wouldn't want to be playing a game for a living?let alone get millions to do it. national recognition, endorsements. come on you greedy kids.just take your football and go home.we'll find someone who really wants to play.and probably for much less than you.
