Let's Play What If...
Let's play a little game of what if.
What if Byron Leftwich comes in the game on Sunday night?
How will the Jaguars crowd respond?
For that matter, how will Leftwich's former teammates respond?
"I think he would get a good response," said Reggie Hayward. "Byron didn't leave on bad terms with the fans--they didn't hate him or anything. I think the fans would love to see Byron out there palying."
Hmmm.
I'm not sure how good Reggie's memory is. Maybe the fans didn't all hate Byron, but he wasn't loved. The fans aren't going to give Leftwich the same kind of welcome back that Marcus Stroud received. Or, clearly, Mark Brunell.
If Leftwich gets in, there will certainly be a commotion in the stands--a ruckus.
Cue Judd Nelson: "Can you describe the ruckus?"
While the Leftiwch soap opera would make for some interesting conversation, the most significant thing about that would be that Ben Roethlisberger was out of the game and that would give the Jaguars the best chance to win.
"We'll go after him just like if Ben was in there," Mike Peterson said.
Yes, but getting Leftwich would be a whole lot easier than Big Ben.
Foodie Thought of the Week: I've eaten a lot of unusual food: yak tail, armadillo, rattlesnake. But I may have another contender for strangest food: kangaroo. I ate, and rather enjoyed, kangaroo sausage last night as an appetizer. No, I didn't make it myself. And what does kangaroo taste like, you ask?
It was actually pretty mild. Kind of like lean roast beef or bison, but with a little greasier texture. That may have just been the sausage portion. Anyway, it was served on slices of a bagette. Someone should turn it into a sandwich, served in a pita: voila...Kangaroo pouch!
What others are saying
- Who are you and What Happened to Pete?I used to love to listen to you and Pete after a Jags game win or lose.
Now it's all excuses and defending the team.
Pete is quieter than usual because he obviously knows more than he's permitted to say.
If you are going to do nothing but defend the crap moves, crap off season agency signings, and lousy coaching decisions and lousy coaching period I am going to listen to the Patriots fan who can't get angry because FSU and his Patriots won at least he has a reason to be happy!
Cut the crap and quit being PC tell it like it is. These are highly (over, way over) paid professionals and treating them like toddlers and us like idiots won't improve your audience.
Cole it's obvious that you and Sexton have never played a down so stop hushing Jeff and Pete they DO KNOW what they are talking about!
